A route between nature, adapted for families, following the old railway line from the Val de Zafán
Greenway
This section by the old railway line of the Val de Zafán, connect the station of Arnes-Lledó with Pinell de Brai. In total 23 km of adapted rail to go by bike. This route is very flat, adapted for children and families, especially if we descend. The route crosses several tunnels - it is recommended wear a front light- and some aqueducts surrounded by lush vegetation. We skirt also heritage, like the medieval convent of Sant Salvador in Horta de Sant Joan. After Bot, there is a valley where the river Canaletes crosses, a tributary of the Ebro by the right, between steep rock walls. After the old station of Prat de Comte, there is the Sanctuary of Fontcalda where the river flows through gorges of vertical rocks, with moderate water and natural pools to swim. The section of the Terra Alta Greenway ends in station of Pinell de Brai. In this town we can visit the modernist Cooperative Winery by the architect Cèsar Martinell, a disciple of Gaudí.
